MASTODON a annoncé être rentré en studio pour enregistrer son huitième album dont la sortie est prévue pour 2021. Il succédera à Emperor Of Sand sorti en 2017.

Le groupe a sorti une compilation de chansons rares et de reprises, intitulée Medium Rarities, le 11 septembre 2020.
La compilation comprend une chanson inédite, « Fallen Torches » avec Scott Kelly (NEUROSIS)
