PAGAN FEST 2009 IN VILLEURBANNE

« Korpi…what??? Pagan Fest..like a beer fest??? They’re all wearing kilts? But what the fuck…where am I now??? »

No don’t worry, no one ever said it that loud, but a lot of people wondered what happened at the Transbordeur on the 22nd of September. Loads of guys wearing kilts, a lot of horns out of their home and ready to receive liters of beers!!! And above all great bands ready to give us a great Pagan time…

Here is the story of this evening.

RAISMESFEST 2009

The joys of the open air : we are 1 kilometre away from the festival gates and we are already enjoying the first tracks of the Stormzone gig.
Nothing revolutionary about it really and that’s not really the point for them. Stormzone’s radio type heavy metal is the first to address the Raismefest crowd : mainly heavy metal and oldschool fans.
The English band’s music and performace is effectively concentional and evokes a certain sense of deja-vu. The tracks also have the bad habit of being needlessly long…

HELLFEST 2009 BY DOC’

Radio Metal had an excellent Hellfest 2009 – great shows, very good organisation, nice times.
After the release of our report of these insane three days, on 24th June, we decided to write an unusual tour report of the event. Here’s Doc’s account, intended to describe the festival from behind the scenes – in a very subjective way, of course.

Note from Doc’ to his colleagues: “at last I’m going to have fun, you suckers!”
