Hybrid Circle on Radio Metal !

Hybrid Circle is a metal band from, Italy, composed by 4 young musicians, who released in March 2007 their first full-length work: “post-murder reflections”. They answered some questions for us, explaining part of their work and inspiration.

For how long have you been playing together? How did the band start?

We play since the summer of 2000, almost 8 years. We took the name of Hybrid Circle two years ago: before we were known as “Sistema 821” and we played a different style of music. Since 2006 we discovered a deeper musical “conscience” and then changed name and direction in our activity, becoming what we are now.

Who cares about composition of music and lyrics in the band?

Most of our lyrics are written by Stefano (Vocals): the first rough version gets modified during our sessions and then finalized when the musical base is ready. The music is mainly composed by Simone (Guitar player). Every song is a collaborative work between the two.

“Post-murder reflections” is a concept album, narrating a series of dreams about the murder of a woman and the reflections of the killer after the murder has been performed. How did you choose this theme for your work?

Our inspiration came from an experience the guitarist and the singer of the band made in parallel, with their love stories ended in a “not sweet” way. (Laughs). Obviously we worked a lot with fantasy and added a touch of macabre to the real story!

Where do you play? How often?

Not so often: we study and compose at home and organize our ideas, then we meet in our recording studio, where every production from Hybrid Circle has been recorded up to now.

What was your best musical experience? And what was the worst?

The worst ever was our first live performance. We played for about two minutes… Blame our inexperience and the bad organization! The best one, on the other hand, is… still to come! Not because the one we had until now where, bad, not at all… but you know, you always have to aim higher, defying ourselves and others!

What plans have you made for your musical future as a band?

We are currently working on a new album: as soon as we’ll have it completed we want to make a bunch of live shows all around! Then we’ll compose a new album and have new gigs. Then a new album… ok, you get the idea!
